"Oil Pastel Smudge" Artown Exhibit & Demonstration July 19th South Valleys Library Reno, NV7/16/2014 I contacted the South Valleys Library 2 years ago to hold an exhibit of "Oil Pastel Smudge" during Artown. It was well worth the 2 year wait. I have some fabulous students joining me in this exhibit showing their interpretation of this exciting technique using a self made template and working in positive & negative shapes.
JUSTINE ANDERSON HELAINE GREENBERG SHERRY HUNTER CINDY ORBERLANDER VIVIAN OLDS It would not be the same showing without these wonderful artist's taking the Oil Pastel Smudge technique that I am sharing, to another level. Much thanks to all of you.

Transforming Youth Recovery is sponsoring the Doors to Recovery Public Art Project in Reno Nevada, to celebrate the countless courageous young people who daily confront the devastating disease of addiction and are rebuilding their lives in recovery.
Using antique doors from Reno's Lear Theater, over 40 renowned and emerging local artists are transforming a small piece of history into works of art, to inspire hope for the future of our young people. The completed art-doors will be on display for the entire month of July, in select locations around downtown and midtown Reno, in conjunction with Artown. My door is able to be displayed either horizontal as pictured below or vertical, simply by rotating the position of the butterfly. To see my door and Artist Statement, plus the other 40 artist's who are participating in this fabulous project visit www.DoorstoRecovery.org |
